This smoothie recipe is quickly becoming a favorite for us. It’s a great way to add the beautiful beet and drink up all of it’s nutritional goodness. Beets are low calorie and high in fiber, which is wonderful for digestive health. Beets also contain the minerals, folate and nitrates, which are beneficial to heart health and have been found to help decrease blood pressure. I’ve mentioned how fighting chronic inflammation has become important to my health journey. I love how I can use God’s Medicine Cabinet to help me with this. Beets contain betalains, which is a pigment that offers anti-inflammatory benefits. Yes, Please! I could go on and on about the benefits of beets, but why not give this one a try and get a little beet in your life!
- 1 Beet (peeled and cubed)
- 1 & 1/2 Oranges
- 1 & 1/2 Lemons juiced
- Handful Baby Spinach
- 3 Romaine Leaves
- 1 cup Frozen Pineapple
- 1 Apple
- 1 tsp Ground Turmeric
- 1 tsp Ground Ginger
- Several grinds of Cracked Black Pepper (a medium pinch of black pepper will do)
- 1/2 to 1 cup Filtered Water (amount depend on whether you choose to sip or slurp)
Add all your ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.
