I LOVE bananas, but I don’t like over-ripe bananas. They are too sweet and have a high glycemic index, which isn’t healthy for even a healthy person. I’ve been playing with How To Freeze Bananas, and I think I’ve finally figured it out. So, I wanted to share with you, My Friend.

The health benefits of bananas are endless, but one in particular is they are full of the mineral, potassium. Potassium helps manage sodium levels and lowers blood pressure because it relaxes the blood vessel walls.

I try to keep bananas around the house, but we don’t always eat them up before the dark spots begin to show up on the banana skins. Instead of tossing them out, I’ve started freezing them. This method of freezing is quick & easy and offers a way to always have bananas in the house for our smoothies. All you need is a sheet pan with a cover, parchment paper or a Silpat, a knife, a freezer and the bananas.

Next time you consider throwing out over-ripe bananas, I hope you’ll try freezing them. Good Luck and let me know how it goes!

Until next time, Make! It! Count!
