My Hope Journey
A Story Of Transformation
Hello, my friends! I hope that you’re having a blessed & beautiful day. Welcome to Cristina Lynn Zen. I’m Cristina Lynn (kinda obvious!) and I’d like to tell you a little about me and my path to Zen (peace & calm).
Several years ago, I thought I had the world by its tail, but in reality my life was spiraling into a dark place — mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. I became extremely sick with some pretty bizarre (and scary) issues. After way too many doctor visits, tests, and medications, I decided to take a long hard look at myself. I began a journey combining traditional & non-traditional healing techniques. My eyes were opened to the power of Yoga, traditional Chinese medicine, and natural foods. And Hope.
These practices have completely changed the way I see, walk, live, and breathe life. I started paying close attention to what I put both in and on my body, how I approach exercise, and where I place my mental and spiritual focus. I like to think of all the changes I’ve embraced as building a toolbox for self-healing and resilience.
I used to ask God why he spared my life. I now believe with all my heart, mind, body & spirit that This Is My Why — I’m meant to share everything I’ve learned and be a gentle reminder we are all worthy of love, joy, compassion, gratefulness, peace, and hope. No matter where we are, it’s never too late to Change What We Can Change. Start your own Hope Journey today!
Sending you light, love & hugs…
Who I Am
I’m a recovering people-pleasing perfectionist and a terminal optimist.
I’m an extrovert and “energy giver” who sometimes needs reminders to take my own advice.
I’m passionate about helping others heal and find joy in their lives.
I’m married to my high-school sweetheart and the love of my life (Kevin) and we have a pretty awesome son (Ethan). A pretty awesome Dobie (Adie) as well as you will see in some of the photos on my site.
What I Do
A little bit of everything — I stay pretty busy! I will try and share some of my more interesting pursuits on my Blog.
In addition to teaching and helping others develop life-changing wellness habits, I’m also a singer, musician, and song-writer. My journey of healing has led me to some enlightening new perspectives on the power of music for healing (Tibetan singing bowls and the Harmonium are a couple tools I’ve incorporated into my personal practice).
I also love the outdoors and enjoying the beauty of all God’s creation.
How I Trained
I am a licensed RN with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. While I no longer work in the medical field this background gives me a strong understanding of the body and the scientific bases for disease and healing.
I am a Certified Personal Fitness Trainer (CPFT) through the American Council on Exercise (ACE) with additional training in sports and fitness nutrition.
I am a 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) through Yoga Alliance.
